LRT television - public Lithuanian television, which broadcasts informative, educational, cultural and entertainment programs, as well as religious programs and programs for national minorities, to Lithuanian viewers.

Viewed throughout the country and via the Sirius 4 satellite in Northern and Eastern Europe (one of the encoded channels in the Viasat package).

LRT television was established in 1957. February 25 By order of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic no. 71 and named Vilnius Television Studio. Stanislava Borisienė, previously the deputy head of the Main Radio Information Board, was appointed as its director.[1] in 1957 in June, the Vilnius Television Studio and the Main Radio Information Board were merged into one organization - the Radio and Television Committee. The Vilnius television studio was called Television Studio in the Committee's correspondence, and the person responsible for its activities in 1957 December 9 the deputy chairman of the Radio and Television Committee, Leonas Mykolaitis, has been appointed.

In 1965 March 16 Vladas Leipus is appointed director of the television studio.

In 1957 April 30 the first show of the Vilnius television studio was broadcast.

In 1975 February 26 the first color Lithuanian TV show was broadcast.

From 1957 to 1990 it was called TV Vilnius (Television of the Lithuanian SSR), from 1990 to 1998. and from 2002 to 2012 July 27 – LTV, from 1998 to 2002. – LRT, and since 2012 July 28 it means LRT television.

2014 January 20 the HD broadcast of the first national high-definition television channel in Lithuania, LRT television, was launched, and since 2014 September 22 television began to broadcast around the clock.
